Cast of the Realm

THE DISCMANCER

Welcome, traveler, to the figures who share Trillium's realm. A world is more than the spells woven within it, and Trillium does not walk her quest alone. Here is the Elder who came before her, keeping a quest of his own on a schedule nobody else is told, and the Council that watches from its high seats. They are not aloof villains but family who happen to hold court, and their judging is loving, never cruel. Beneath every raised eyebrow and every withheld blessing runs a warmth that holds the whole realm together. Step closer, and meet them.

The People of the Realm

The hands behind the hero.

Nick
The Discmancer
Truly
Trillium's trainer, frisbee partner, and the narrator of the quest
Narrator voice
Every legend starts with a single roll, and the throw is mine to make.
Lore
The hand that throws and the voice that tells it. He trains the hero, casts the disc that calls each spell, and narrates the whole saga as it unfolds. Where Trillium runs, he runs the field beside her. Element: Disc magic. Teal. The spark that sets a spell in motion.
Queen M
The Queen
Truly
Sovereign of the realm and Trillium's steady companion
Narrator voice
Queen M watches over all, and the realm stays calm.
Lore
She watches over the realm and walks beside Trillium through every spell. A warm, steady presence at the hero's side, the quiet sovereign the whole quest is run for. Element: Royal magenta. The calm that holds the kingdom together.

The Realm Assembles

Grimley
The Elder
Truly
Cocker Spaniel (the senior of the pack, a knight of another discipline)
Narrator voice
The Elder has been called away. The realm's mysteries outrank the ball. They always have.
Lore
A knight of another discipline entirely. The hero chases the flying disc; the Elder's sport is the great ball, and when it emerges the years fall away: the scream, the sprint, the tackle. He is not lazy, he is selective. He conserves himself magnificently (couch, bed, sun patch) until his quest appears, and then he is fully unretired for ninety glorious seconds. His flaw is the forest, which speaks to him mid-quest. A smell, a plant, a rustle, and the legendary charge simply wanders off into the trees, and the realm's mysteries win again. Element: Amber. Old gold. The warmth of long experience.
Mango
Voice of the Council
Truly
Orange tabby cat (male, skinny and long, all legs and opinions)
Narrator voice
Mango has opinions. Mango will share them.
Lore
The Voice of the Council, its herald and its loudest member. He does not leap to his seat. He climbs to it, the scenic route, narrating the whole way up. Lanky and vocal, full of running commentary. The talkative one. Warm and affectionate with his people, but skittish around strangers (the Council does not trust outsiders). Element: Marmalade flame. Bright, warm, and loud.
Olive
Keeper of the High Seat
Truly
All-black cat (a lady; robust, sure-footed, and a superb jumper)
Narrator voice
Olive speaks rarely. When she does, it concerns dinner.
Lore
Keeper of the High Seat. A born jumper, she takes the literal high ground and presides over the realm from above. The Council judges best from on high. Solid, food-driven, and gloriously pushy. She demands her tribute. Dainty and sparing with her meows, which she spends almost entirely on the subject of supper. And underneath it all, everyone's friend, the diplomat who greets every guest. Element: Obsidian. Midnight. The quiet weight of high places.

The Kingdom

THE KINGDOM
The forest village, the dirt-road runway, the wild hills
The land
A forest village and its dirt-road runway, where the spells are bound, and the wild green hills that rise beyond it.
And so
a hero, an elder, a council, a kingdom.
